first_imgEverton have made a second offer of £18m for Sunderland defender Lamine Kone.The Toffees had an opening bid of £15m rejected, but they have now returned with a fresh approach.The Black Cats only signed the centre-back from Lorient in January after paying around £5m for his services.However, since then the 27-year-old has been in impressive form and he has caught the eye of Everton’s scouts.Manager Ronald Koeman is particularly keen on the Senegal international and, after losing John Stones to Everton, he is determined to add Kone to his squad.Everton now hope their new offer will tempt their Premier League rivals into selling.Koeman is also keen to land another centre-back, with a deal for Swansea’s Ashley Williams also in the offing. 1 Lamine Kone in action for Sunderland last_img
