It’s election day which means we are definitely not going to talk about who we’re voting for. What we’re going to do instead is talk about our nominations if you could only vote for former Oklahoma State players, coaches, administrators and boosters in this election (what a world that would be). Here are our nominees (president/vice president).Justin Southwell: Mike Gundy/Todd MonkenThis duo wins. I would’ve liked to have seen Monken stay longer and develop his recruits in that style of offense.I added some cabinet members for fun.Attorney General: JW WalshSpeaker of the House: Larry ReeceSecretary of State: John W. SmithSecretary of Treasury: Brandon WeedenSecretary of Defense: Brad UnderwoodSecretary of Health: Rob GlassSecretary of Energy: T. Boone PickensSecretary of Education: Russell OkungCaleb Deck: Mike Gundy/Mike HolderShoutout to cousin-in-law Ryan Nash for brainstorm with me!Talk about a leader and the peoples’ president with Mike Gundy. Winner, represents the program and school well, great catchphrases, and tough (see “I’m a man!” rant).Mike Holder fits the VP spot well. He can negotiate the back door deals necessary to keep things going. I may not always agree with him or like his personality but he gets the job done and is as loyal as anyone. Here are some bonus cabinet positions.Secretary of State: Burns HargisSecretary of Interior: Joe Bob ClementsSecretary of Defense: Tony AllenAttorney General: Thayer Evans TBDSecretary of Treasury: T. Boone PickensSecretary of Agriculture: Big CountrySecretary of Labor: Brad UnderwoodPress Secretary: Doug GottliebSecretary of Health and Human Development: Rob GlassKyle Boone: Mike Gundy/Boone PickensI like Gundy as my president because he has earned the utmost respect within the community; he was raised in a good family, never says a word, and occasionally cracks jokes that appeal to the younger demographic like myself. His mullet is hard proof that he’s willing to take a joke way too far to embarrass his children, and that’s a quality I can most certainly respect. The most successful era of Oklahoma State football wouldn’t be possible without the contributions of mega-booster and oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens. If something were to happen to Gundy that he would not be able to continue his duties as president, T. Boone would get his chance to run the organization, which I’m not so sure he secretly wants a crack at from time to time anyway. Good luck with OU!Commit to four more years! #GoPokes #okstate #Election2016 pic.twitter.com/Fr2TZQSRLH— Cowboy FB Recruiting (@CowboyFB_Elite) November 8, 2016Kyle Porter: Les Miles/Mike GundyGet the band back together! It was so hard not to pick Gundy for at least one position (like everyone else). Can you imagine the joint press conferences?Reporter: Why are your jobs numbers in a freefall?Gundy: That’s in-ack-u-rut.Reporter: I have the data right here.Gundy: That ain’t true!Meanwhile President Les balancing the budget would be spectacular. Now if we can somehow make it look like time is going to run out and the government is going to shut down while we still have a monstrous deficit, that’s when I do my best work. [entire cabinet resigns]Plus, we know how he feels about national holidays. We would finally get Fantasy Football Draft Day, MLB Opening Day and the first weekend of CFB as national holidays. The television interviews would be even better. An insanely hoarse Les: One of these countries is a great country and the other is the best country in the world! [Gundy stares deeply into camera like Jim from The Office while wondering if tucked-in hoodies are allowed at the State of the Union].My gosh, I want this. Also, this could hang in the Oval Office. There is only one choice for president and vice president tomorrow. Make America tuck its shirts and jackets in again. pic.twitter.com/30MWM5HFb2— Pistols Firing (@pistolsguys) November 7, 2016Kyle Cox: Barry Sanders/Thurman ThomasProbably the best running back duo in college football history. Sanders may be the greatest running back ever but Thomas is the Cowboys’ all-time leading rusher. Both were inducted into both the College and Pro Football Hall of Fames. The choice is simple. You can’t find a pair more deserving. Plus they just sound like a presidential duo. Sanders. Thomas. Sanders/Thomas.Make your voice heard and cast your vote for Sanders/Thomas.Let us know who you would vote for below.
